Information about Development Management Committee

The Development Management Committee makes decisions on planning applications and other development and planning matters.  Its main responsibilities are:

 

·         Controlling development in the Borough by using the powers contained in the Town Planning Act, 1990 and the Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1990

·         Making decisions on applications for:

Planning permissions

Listed building consent

Conservation area consent

Advertisement consent

Lawful development certificate

Hazardous substances consent

·         Dealing with planning enforcement and unauthorised development

·         Dealing with planning and planning enforcement appeals

·         Using the council's powers appropriately in relation to listed buildings, conservation areas and the preservation of trees

·         Advising the Cabinet on relevant aspects of local plan matters
