The Development
Management Committee makes decisions on planning applications and other
development and planning matters. Its
main responsibilities are:

Controlling development in the Borough by using
the powers contained in the Town Planning Act, 1990 and the Planning (Listed
Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1990

Making decisions on applications for:
Planning
permissions
Listed
building consent
Conservation
area consent
Advertisement
consent
Lawful
development certificate
Hazardous
substances consent
·
Dealing with planning enforcement and
unauthorised development
·
Dealing with planning and planning enforcement
appeals
·
Using the council's powers appropriately in
relation to listed buildings, conservation areas and the preservation of trees
·
Advising the Cabinet on relevant aspects of
local plan matters
Public speaking at
planning meetings
