To carry out pre-decision scrutiny on Exempt Draft Report No. OS2623 (copy to follow), which sets out the recommendation to the Cabinet and Council regarding the proposed SERCO Contract Extension. A presentation will be provided by Ruth Whaymand, Service Manager - Environmental Contracts and James Duggin, Chief Operating Officer.

The Cabinet appointed, SERCO Contract Working Group, met on 16th September 2026, to review the proposals for the extension. The Cabinet will then meet on 1st October 2026, to consider the recommendations of the Working Group, and any further comments/recommendations from the Committee, prior to the full Council meeting later that same day.

The Committee are being asked to review the Draft Report, and make any comments/recommendations, which will then be taken into account by the Cabinet when making their final recommendation to the Council.

The Cabinet Member for Pride in Place and Neighbourhood Services, Cllr Christine Guinness will be in attendance to answer Members’ questions.
