DETERMINATION OF AN APPLICATION FOR A SCRAP METAL COLLECTOR'S LICENCE To consider the Head of Operational Services’ Exempt Report No. OS1908 (copy attached) setting out details of an application for a scrap metal collector’s licence. Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered Exempt Report No. OS1908, which set out details of an application for a scrap metal collector’s licence, made under Schedule 1 of the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. The applicant confirmed that he had received all relevant paperwork. It was explained that there were some concerns as to whether the applicant was suitable to hold the licence applied for and the Head of Operational Services had been minded, therefore, to refuse the grant of the licence, subject to consideration of any representations from the applicant. In her presentation, the Licensing Officer set out the background to the application. The applicant then made his presentation. The Licensing Officer and applicant were all subjected to questions from the Sub-Committee. The Sub-Committee withdrew to decide whether the grant of a licence should be approved and the outcome of this was set out in
the confidential decision notice annexed to these minutes. |
